06.-11. July 2025 – 5th ISA Forum of sociology, Rabat, MAR

The 5th ISA (International Association of Sociology) forum of Sociology will take place in Rabat, Morocco with the topic „Knowing justice in the anthropocene“. The Panel „Ocean and Society: Organizational and Technological Developments“ offers interesting insights and discussions on the relationship between organization, technology and society as it unfolds when it comes to the ocean. The Panel is co-organized by marine stsing-member Kurt Rachlitz.

The Conference of the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA) had the theme „Doing and Undoing with Anthropology“.

16. – 19. July 2024 – EASST-4s 2024, Amsterdam, NL

Members of marine stsing participated in this year’s edition of the quadrennial joint meeting of the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology (EASST) and the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S). This year’s edition was held under the motto „Making and Doing Transformations“. Amongst the exchange with fellow researchers, following panels were held by members:

The inaugural conference of stsing e.V. stood under the motto „Leakage“, exploring its generative potential as a variegated paradigm for STS, whether engaged as a physical phenomenon, a material metaphor, an analytical tool, or a political strategy. Marine stsing was present with following talks and panels:
